About the Author
Hello, I am Paul Teal.
I’m the balloon artist behind Party ‘til you POP! LLC and the welder and tailor who makes the products sold by Event Welding.
I have a bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts.
I have had many roles throughout my life. I have been a typesetter, database designer, corporate trainer, Six Sigma green belt, and computer programmer.
My first business was a carpet cleaning business. I have also had small businesses as a sign painter and an automated report designer.
In June of 2000, I started my balloon art business in South Carolina. The business is named Party ‘til you POP! LLC and can be found on the web at www.partytilyoupop.com. I later relocated to the much bigger Atlanta market. I starred in a VHS instructional movie about using balloon art in educational programs. I have many balloon art instructional videos on YouTube dating back to 2015. I have taught several instructional sessions in the balloon art community in Atlanta over the same time frame.
My balloon art business grew from a side gig to my full-time job.
In 2011, I was recognized as a Certified Balloon Artist (CBA) by Qualatex at the West Coast Event and Balloon Arts Convention (WCE&BAC). This certification includes online testing, portfolio critiques, in-person demonstration of skills, and an interview in front of a live panel.
In 2019, I was hired by the FLOAT Balloon Convention to do logistic support. I continued in the 2020 and 2022 conventions. I was a proud member of the FLOAT family, but in 2024 I wanted to represent my own company as a vendor at the convention, so I had to make a tough decision. At the 2024 convention, I unveiled my new website, www.EventWelding.com. On this website, I sell tools I make to balloon artists nationwide.
I had always wanted to learn to weld and sew to make tools for my balloon business, but I never had the time with all of my balloon art orders. When the pandemic of 2020 hit, I (like all my other friends in the industry) had plenty of time. During that year, I set up a small metal shop and taught myself to weld and sew. I started by making balloon frames to cover with balloons and baseplate covers. Soon my local friends wanted these tools too. I redesigned my balloon frames so that they can be disassembled and shipped.
I now have one of the longest-running balloon businesses in the Atlanta market, and I enjoy giving back to the industry that has given me so much.
